First
diagnosed at the age of 29, Nancy Turner's compelling story has been
told in the pages of Women's World, Coping magazine, and other national
publications. A survivor of breast cancer and the mother of two children,
Turner found her own way to overcome the difficulties of recovering
from two mastectomies.
Turner put her ingenuity to work by developing the Marsupial® Pouch,
a unique device to hold post-surgical drainage tubes. This patented
invention has been well received by physicians, patients and hospitals.
The American Cancer Society has featured the product in their magazine,
"tlc®" Tender Loving Care.
Today, Turner is the President of Turner Healthcare Products Inc. in
Greenville, South Carolina. The company distributes lounging robes and
mammography examination gowns. She has co-chaired and been a board member
of the South Carolina "Upstate Race for the Cure."
